Russian marketplace for Asia: former head of VK is seriously investing in e-commerce in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan
The former head of VK, Boris Dobrodeev, represents an investment company that will invest in finance and e-commerce projects in Asia and even (in the near future). According to Forbes, there is now a special mention of four-five meetings in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan over the loss of about $10 million. One of them is the launch of the marketplace in the fall of 2022. Other details are not yet known.
Now the former head of VKontakte chooses the most suitable cases of jurisdiction. The company is registered in the next one and a half to two months. “Now I understand that I am more of an entrepreneur and I want to fully focus on creating my company,” he declared.
Dobrodeev intends to buy controlling stakes in projects so that they can fully determine their fate, seeking synergy between them. At the first stage, he is ready to invest several million dollars.
In the future, the company intends to attract investments from India or China, which will allow launching projects in other countries – Egypt, Australia, tourism countries and countries in Southeast Asia.
Also, the ex-head of VK intends to invest in financial services, as he sees the potential for the penetration of financial technologies that allow you to get quick and convenient access to money transfers, payments, loans and installment purchases of goods.
Dobrodeev decided to focus on projects after he left the position of CEO of USM Telecom. Took it in February 2022.
