A man climbed onto a construction crane in Zurich Oerlikon on Monday evening. The circumstances are still unclear. The police will inform you at a later date.
A man climbed onto a construction crane in Zurich Oerlikon on Monday evening. Pictures from news scouts show that the man apparently put a banner on the crane. The incident happened not far from the train station, so many people witnessed it.
“The fire brigade tried to get to the man with a turntable ladder,” says a news scout for 20 minutes. “But she had to stop the exercise because the ladder didn’t go all the way to the top,” the reader continued.
“It was super funny,” says another reader and tells how she experienced the situation. “I arrived at the train station and saw that the fire brigade and many people were there. The man was pacing back and forth – then suddenly he started banging with an object. Other witnesses claim he also threw objects off the crane. Pictures from Tele Züri show that the man lit a fire on the crane just before midnight.

There were restrictions on public transport around the Oerlikon train station. The route between Bucheggplatz and Oerlikon train station was closed to tram line 11 and bus lines 61 and 62 in both directions. Train traffic between Oerlikon and Wallisellen has also been interrupted.
