The end of difficult times? Fortuna attracts hockey fans to crazy bets
The hockey world is starting to look to Finland. It is there that the 86th IIHF World Championships will start on Friday. The Czechia has been waiting for the coveted medal for ten years. And precisely because of this unusually long misery, the betting office Fortuna came up with an unconventional form of campaign.

“This year we want to enjoy the championship in all circumstances, no matter what happens, that’s why we announced a package of special bets on historical failures. If it doesn’t happen by chance, the “shooters” bettors can claim at least a solid win, “explained Michal Hanák, Fortuny’s main bookmaker.
So what’s on offer? Really crazy options.
We can mention two tips for Kari Jalonen, who is historically the first foreign coach of the national team. The expulsion from the inverter received a 35: 1 rate. Can you imagine the Finnish coach being released from the national team during the tournament? If so, an 85: 1 course is available.
“The preparation went well and it seems that Jalonen and Nedvěd managed to put together a very interesting team,” Hanák pointed out that he himself does not count on this scenario.
Finnish realism and Czech dreaming. How Coach Jalonen changed the atmosphere
Blamáž would not advance to the quarterfinals (9: 1). The black scenario in the form of the Czech relegation to the lower division between Japan, Lithuania and Ukraine (666: 1) or the most collected goals of all teams in both basic groups (1000: 1) looks much scarier and, in fact, more bizarre.
However, the collapse can also have a relatively normal course. It is thus possible to bet on a larger number of collected goals, the failure of NHL stars and the number of penalty minutes.
And optimists from the fans can use the usual tips. For example, you can bet on the medal for the Czechia at a rate of 2.05: 1 (gold 6.5: 1). Interesting at the end? These numbers change every now and then. They’re falling. Originally, gold had a 9: 1 rate!
“A lot of people have already bet that this bad period will end this year,” said Fortuny spokesman Petr Šrain.
