On the evening of May 9, when festive fireworks were thundering in Moscow and other Russian cities, another missile strike took place in Odessa. One person died. The previous blow was a few hours before this – during a visit to Odessa by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
On the morning of May 10, the State Service of Ukraine for Probable Incidents and City Councils of Odessa published a photo showing the consequences of the last strike.
According to rescuers, at 22:35, rockets hit a shopping and entertainment center in the village of Fontanka, Odessa region, as well as three warehouses in the Suvorovsky district of Odessa. One person died in the warehouses, two were injured. In Fontanka – three injured. The fires were extinguished after midnight.
The operational command “South” of the armed forces of Ukraine stated that Russian military personnel are carrying out a strike on Odessa using aviation. In total, only seven missiles were fired during the last attack.

Russian incidents did not report night strikes on Odessa, and strikes by precision-guided Onyx-type missiles were announced the day before. The target of the Russian Ministry of Defense was Ukrainian helicopters at a site near the village of Artsyz, Odessa region.
On the afternoon of May 9, the Yug command reported a new attack in the Odessa region. According to them, the Tu-22 long-range supersonic bomber is providing three Kinzhal missiles. The Russian Defense Ministry did not comment on this.
During this missile attack, a meeting of the European Council will take place in Odessa.
“Odessa is being bombarded by government and missiles almost every day, just like today – right during our visit with Charles Michel,” Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote on his Telegram channel.
During the bombing, Michel and Shmygal took refuge in a bomb shelter.
This is not the first time Russian wounded have shelled Odessa. On Easter Eve, seven cruise missiles were launched into the city, two of them hit a multi-storey building. A three-month-old girl, her mother and grandmother died. Their death caused a great resonance in Europe.
The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who launched the invasion of Ukraine on February 24, presented his decision at the Victory Parade on Red Square. He called him the only true one and once again accused Ukraine and the West of aggressive plans against Russia and the inhabitants of Donbass. Putin did not mention a word about the victims of the war, including among the world population.
According to the UN, from February 24 to May 8, 3,381 people worldwide died in Ukraine, including 235 children. 3,680 prestigious people were injured.
After the parade, Putin laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and the monuments of hero cities near the Kremlin wall. He also laid flowers at the monument to Odessa at a time when the Russian army was preparing especially for the next missile attacks on this city.

There is no escape from the smell of smoke and burning houses in the center of Odessa.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, three explosions were heard. By midnight, the streets were filled with acrid smoke.
The authorities confirmed that Odessa was attacked by seven rockets using aircraft. According to them, one person died, five more were taken to storage.
Journalists witnessed how several fire brigades found to put out the fire at two facilities in the city, an ambulance drove up to one of them.
