Cluj-Napoca – Ákos, the Bagossy Brothers Company and Beatrice will be the main star performers of the St. Ladislaus Days in Oradea from 20 to 26 June – the organizers of the cultural festival announced at their press conference on Monday.
According to their communication to MTI, this year’s St. Ladislaus Days will be a jubilee not only because it is being organized for the tenth time, but also because this year marks the 930th anniversary of the founding of Oradea and the 830th anniversary of the consecration of St. Ladislaus.
The main organizer of Gyula Zatykó called the main goal of the festival to build a bridge between the Hungarians living on both sides of the border and the Hungarian and Romanian communities in Oradea.
In line with this goal, there will also be programs offered by Oradea and those offered by the City of Debrecen for the festival.
As Alina Toie, CEO of the Association for the Promotion of Tourism in Oradea and the Region (APTOR), announced at the press conference, the local government of Oradea will contribute to the St. Ladislaus Days with the Ákos concert.
Edit Bódor, Debrecen’s rapporteur for ecclesiastical and cross-border Hungarian communities, said that
The city of Debrecen will bring to the opening gala the dance performance of the Debrecen Folk Ensemble, Fire Lily, which deals with Wass Albert’s novel The Witch of Funtinel.
Dalma Varga Korpos, the president of the Szent László Association, who organized the festival, mentioned as a novelty that this year the programs will take place not only in the castle, but also in Szent László Square, where a large stage for evening concerts will be set up.
Detailed information about the programs of St. Ladislaus Days will be provided on the festival’s Facebook and Instagram pages, and soon on the website www.szentlaszlonapok.ro.
