The ovis in Debrecen learn well how to take care of the animals – with a video
Debrecen – Responsible animal husbandry must be taught from an early age! On 6 May each year, attention is drawn to this nationwide. In the practicing kindergarten of the Faculty of Child Education and Special Education of the University of Debrecen, the youngest were sensitized on Friday.
Preschoolers were also able to experience the touch and its beneficial effects. Some research suggests that gentle caressing can also have an analgesic effect. The children also learned about proper grooming from the dog beautician, and the vet explained to them what was going on at each test.
May 6 is the day of responsible animal husbandry, at which time attention is drawn to the fact that they are sentient beings at various programs throughout the country. There are currently 300,000 stray dogs in Hungary, of which only 10 percent are sheltered.
The formation of attitudes must begin in childhood, which is why he launched the program at the University of Debrecen. Animal-assisted pedagogical training was launched at the institution last year.
“Our world is changing as our ecosystem is upset, we are increasingly seeing the need to transform our relationship with nature and animals, and we can only achieve this when we start at a very young age. Three hundred thousand stray dogs cannot just be eliminated. This can only be solved for years by raising the next generations differently – pointed out Antal Lovas-Kiss, associate professor at the Faculty of Child Education and Special Education of the University of Debrecen.
The Aura Helping Dog Foundation has been providing therapies for adults and children for 20 years. Trained animals can also be used for movement and memory development.
The foundation provides support for many people. One of their biggest successes was that a 9 mutish little girl who didn’t speak at all to her contemporaries overcame her anxiety with their help.
“He went to school two and a half years ago and no one has heard the little girl’s voice yet. He was sent to us for development and the first time he saw our Bigyo dog, we told him to come and say hello to Bigyo, tell him “hi Bigyo!”. He spoke immediately, giving a presentation to eighty children after the fifth therapy, said Lajos Nagy, the foundation’s training manager.
The Faculty of Child and Special Education will have several programs in the future to bring animals closer to humans and thus make their daily lives for many.
