in Toulouse, deminers blow up a car parked in front of the clerk
The explosion was heard throughout the neighborhood. This Thursday morning, a security hazard was deployed at 7 a.m. in front of the Toulouse central police station in front of which a suspicious car was parked. Vehicles cannot be parked on this part of Boulevard de l’Embouchure for security reasons.
Having failed to contact its owner, the police decided to call in the deminers. While waiting for their arrival, the district was cordoned off and the Canal du Midi metro station closed. Around 9:40 a.m., members of the demining service “used an explosive charge to secure the vehicle,” said a police source.
The targeted car was not booby-trapped. The public road cleaning services always intervened in the middle of the morning to clear the roadway for a reopening of the road to traffic.
