Desecrators of memorials arrested in Rostov region – South and North Caucasus |
Rostov-on-Don. 5 May. Interfax-South – FSB and police officers stopped the activities of an extremist community that desecrated memorial structures dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Rostov Region reports.
“Group members living in different cities of the Rostov region kept in touch through a closed group, in one of the messengers. The participants also met at separate classes in one of the settlements of the Rostov region. World War II, and the arson of a hookah cafe in the city of Shakhty, committed in October-November 2021,” the message says in Japan.
It is noted that in June 2021 they applied 12 images and inscriptions of a nationalist right-wing radical persuasion on the walls of state buildings and institutions in Oktyabrsky (Rostov region). They also died in an attack on a citizen of non-Slavic appearance in Rostov-on-Don. It is reported that they used the tactics of one of the neo-Nazi organizations banned in Russia.
In addition, they created videos and posted them on social media to attract new youth participants. As a result of searches at the place of residence of the members of the group, firearms with limited access, brass knuckles, metal expandable batons, mobile devices and magnetic media, as well as a significant amount of Nazi and neo-fascist paraphernalia, were found and seized.
With regard to the leaders of the groups of criminal cases under Part 1 of Art. 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation of an extremist community), in relation to members of groups – under Part 2 of Art. 2 tbsp. 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in an extremist community). Six persons involved were chosen as a measure of restraint in the form of observation in custody, one – in the form of house arrest.
