Earlier, the state corporation received letters from NASA, ESA and the Canadian Space Agency with a response to a proposal to deregister enterprises of the Russian space industry. As follows from the letters, the United States and Canada consider it their priority to continue the work of the ISS. The head of NASA, Bill Nelson, noted that the federal government does not have the right to work on the station.
Roskosmos linked the response to this proposal with a lawsuit to refuse cross-flights to the ISS and extend the life of the station. After the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, many countries launched the Moscow Large-Scale Chamber. In 2021, several Russian space enterprises, including the Samara RCC Progress and the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering (TsNIIMash), were included in the US sanctions list.
