Return of the direct train between Nice and Milan
The SNCF takes over from Thello (Trenitalia) but remains cautious.
Journeys between Nice and Milan had become more complicated since the cessation of the marketing of tickets between Marseille, Nice and Milan by Thello in July 2021. SNCF plans to put the link between the Côte d’Azur and Milan from 2023. But this time, exit Marseille. The train will only connect Milan from Nice.
There will no longer be three daily round trips, as with Thello, but only two, and on weekends only. The train will leave Nice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. for a total duration of 4.5 hours. His arrival is therefore scheduled for 12:35 p.m. or 10:35 p.m. A last train will leave on Monday morning.
Return trains from Milan will depart at 7am and 3pm and arrive at 11.35am and 7.35pm respectively. Again, a train for latecomers will only be offered on Monday morning.

If you decide to have a short weekend on the Ligurian coast rather than in the fashion capital of the world, it is possible since the TGV will serve Monaco, Ventimiglia, Sanremo, Imperia, Diano Marina, Alassio, Albenga, Finale Ligure, Savona, Genoa, Pavia and Milan Rogoredo.
Good news, therefore, which will avoid correspondence in Ventimiglia and Genoa.
