Moscow. May 3rd INTERFAX – BP’s low-cost refineries no longer buy Russian oil, company CEO Bernard Looney said during a teleconference.
He noted that the company owns 4 refineries in Europe, in particular, in Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, “and I can verify that they are free of Russian molecules.”
“We have adapted (the system – IF), and now European refineries do not buy Russian oil,” Looney added.
Commenting on the forecasts for energy resources, the head of BP noted that the market no longer consumes about 1 million barrels per day of oil from Russia, and this volume may double in May, when sanctions have already been introduced and come into force.
According to the statement, commercial oil and gas reserves are quite low, capacity (for oil production – IF) is relatively low and currently in the market of uncertainties – that ETS in Iran, Libya, with a “zero COVD-19” design in China, rejection of the offer to economic growth.
“I think we live in a world where volatility rules and we’re looking for continued volatility in energy prices, we’re looking for prices to come back in the near-medium term,” said Looney, researching that BP will be changing its price forecasts on energy resources in the middle of the year.
The EU has imposed sanctions banning any accumulation of oil from May 15, 2022. The exception is the supply of energy resources to the country of application, that is, purchase contracts for trading purposes are prohibited, while the purchase of oil and petroleum products to supply the European market is allowed.
