2.5. – A new airline, the Saudi carrier flynas, which introduced regular direct flights between Prague and Riyadh last Friday, introduced itself at Prague Airport. The new line promises strong potential for strengthening inbound tourism from Saudi Arabia and the entire Middle East region. For passengers from the Czech Republic, it opens up new possibilities when traveling either to Saudi Arabia or to more distant destinations in Asia with a transfer in Riyadh.
The direct line is available to passengers 3 times a week, with departures always on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The approximately six-hour flight is operated by a modern and more environmentally friendly type of Airbus A320NEO aircraft with a maximum capacity of up to 174 seats. Premium and Economy class are available. It flies to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, from where it is possible to continue to more distant destinations in the Middle East within the flynas airline. The direct flight to Riyadh returns to Prague Airport after four years, when it was last operated by CSA.
The new connection opens up an opportunity for the Czech Republic to strengthen inbound tourism from the Middle East region. This is a segment of tourists who spend more time with us, plan higher spending here, use hotel and recreational facilities not only in the capital, but also in the regions, especially in spa towns. They are also interested in culture and history.
“Direct flights to Riyadh mean for Prague Airport the acquisition of new long-haul routes to the market with strong potential for further development. Therefore, now experienced carriers are already discussing the future strengthening of air connections to Saudi Arabia, “said Jaroslav Filip, Director of Aviation at Prague Airport. The line will be in operation until the end of the summer season.
