Telecommunications prices in Portugal unchanged in March
The National Authority referred to the previous month with this month’s communications (Ana) March in which Portugal noticed the authority not compared to the previous month. In a statement published on its website, the regulator mentions that, in March, the price of communications, “average of the price index through the previous consumer sub-index”.
The association of electronic communications operators A said that Portugal “leads the decline in fixed broadband prices in Europe”, of “5.2% in the last 12 months”, against an increase of 0.9% in the European Union (EU) a 27.
In comparison”, with the same month of the previous year, “prices increased by 1.9% per cent (pp) lower than the growth of the CPI”, adds the sectoral regulator, referring that “the average definition rate” of prices of telecommunications in recent months was 1.1%, or 1.1 pp below that recorded by the CPI (2.2%)”, says Anacom.
From a long-term perspective and in accumulated terms, “telecommunications prices have grown by 10.9% since the end of 2010, while the CPI has grown by 15.8%”, stresses the regulator. Between 205 and 2019 “Phones made were accumulated from prices by the main providers”.
