Alexander Romanov – Chase Sherman, who won, the result of the fight, victory video, May 1, 2022 – May 1, 2022
Alexander Romanov managed to score a series of four victories to a modern athlete. In the UFC, things like this don’t usually go unnoticed. Especially in the heavy division, and especially if all the victories were obtained ahead of schedule. The Russian heavyweight from Moldova just showed up.
Alexander Romanov began to count the world league in the fall of the year before last. Within just two months, he managed to keep two early victories, spending a total of less than 15 minutes of action in the octagon on them. The beginning turned out to be spectacular, but the texture tension had its first problems. The opponent, with animals Romanov met in the past 2021, turned out to be much more uncomfortable than the previous two.
The duel with Juan Espino is not developing in the best way for Alexander and, quite possibly, may end in an achievement. But Romanov, one might say, was lucky: the Spaniard delivered an illegal knee to the groin and forced the opponent to leave the fight ahead of time, and the judges made a decision about the winner ahead of time. The decision was the biggest in the use of the Moldovan heavyweight.
A logical continuation of a career for Romanova could have been a rematch with Espino, but instead, Alexander was given the American Jared Vanderuu as a rival. This man got into the UFC through the Dana White Challenger Series project, but then blew his chance already significantly in the league. The fight with Romanov also failed: Alexander won an early victory at the end of the round.
At today’s tournament, Romanov fought with another American, Chase Sherman. This man appeared in the UFC since 2016, but he was removed after a series of defeats in the fall of 2018. Further in his life were local MMA leagues, as well as the Bare Knuckle FC promotion, arranging bare-knuckle fights. Sherman returned to the UFC in May 2020 with a victory over Ike Villanueva. However, Chase then suffered three uses in a row, and on this series he went against Romanova.
With Alexander, Chase also did not work out. The Romanovs took the grips without any problems when the fighters hit the ground, and already at the beginning of a few minutes they held a painful hand. This victory was the fifth in a row in the UFC for King-Konga from Moldova. Addition, now Romanov is applied in the top 15 rankings of his division and given to someone named after him next.
