Fewer and fewer parents want to have their children vaccinated against Corona – BZ Berlin
In Berlin, every fourth child under the age of twelve is expected to have been vaccinated against Corona with at least one spade – in Hamburg every third child.

Due to the low demand in the capital, around 500 vaccine doses are at risk of expiration in the Berlin vaccination centers at the beginning of May and an estimated 1,100 doses in the middle of the month.
The Biontech children’s vaccine can be stored in the refrigerator for ten weeks. With adult doses (30 micrograms) there is no risk of expiration, as the health senate announced on BZ request. Not even with the recently approved protein vaccine Novavax.
It’s completely different in Brandenburg: 40,000 cans are about to expire there at the end of July.
But the consumption of the Moderna vaccine would also have to be faster. Around 8,400 cans expire in Berlin in mid-August.

In the two state-owned vaccination centers (Tegel, ICC), an average of 300 to 400 vaccinations are carried out every day. Most recently, there were 1530 vaccinated within eight days. In Berlin, 78.1 percent are now considered basic immunization, 60.5 percent are boosted.
And when is the new Omicron vaccine coming? “Biontech expects the first successful clinical trial this month,” said the Senate.
And further: “The clinical trial of Moderna began in February, the first results are still pending. Novavax has not yet started clinical trials with an adapted vaccine.”
