Paris Saint-Germain – Lyon, semi-final second leg of the Women’s Champions, presentation, TV channels, line-up | UEFA Women’s Champions League

Sugar Mizzy April 28, 2022

It’s simply capital against capital of Gaul on Saturday at the Parc des Princes, as Paris Saint-Germain try to turn the tide after their 3-2 defeat at Lyon in the semi-final first leg of the UEFA Women’s Champions League .

Paris opened the scoring on Sunday at Décines through Marie-Antoinette Katoto, but Wendie Renard – who became the first player to 100 UEFA Women’s Champions League appearances – equalized from a penalty.

A double from Catarina Macario gave Lyon the break before Paulina Dudek reduced the score on another penalty.

The return therefore promises to be very open for a place in the final in Turin. The winner will return to Barcelona or Wolfsburg in Italy.

Damaris Egurrola is back from suspension for Lyon, who are aiming for a tenth final and an eighth title. But since 2014/15, Paris are the only team that have been able to eliminate OL, including last season, in the quarter-finals, on away goals.

The game streaming

Paris, meanwhile, reached the final in 2015 (after beating Lyon in the round of 16) and in 2017 (losing to OL in Cardiff). Didier Ollé-Nicolle’s players are in a much better position than the last time they were welcomed to Lyon at the Parc des Princes for a semi-final second leg. They were then adapted 7-0 after the first leg.

RECORD IN THE AIR – For this meeting, the attendance record for a women’s match in France could be beaten.

Away goals rule abolished in all UEFA club competitions

Two teams having scored the same number of goals over the two games of a meeting will not be separated according to the number of goals scored away from home, but two periods of extra time of 15 minutes will be played at the end of the time regulation of the second leg, and if neither team scores or if the teams score the same number of goals during extra time, kicks from the penalty mark to determine which of the two teams qualifies for the next phase of the competition.

The words of the coaches

Didier Ollé-Nicolle, Paris
We will be at the Parc des Princes for the second leg, where we provided magnificent support from the public. It is therefore a real appeal to the red and blue people that I am making: we will need everyone to overturn this match and seek qualification.

Sonia Bompastor, Lyon
We would have liked to keep these two goals in advance. We had to fight to keep this advantage. We will have to analyze and learn the right lessons from this meeting for the return match. We lacked balance, we projected ourselves a lot, maybe a little too much. The details are important and are expensive at this level. One week before the return match; we will have to recover well and be ready.

Where to watch the game

All matches of the new format of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, starting from the group stage, are broadcast live in most territories on the DAZN streaming platform, as well as on the DAZN YouTube channel. The YouTube stream is also integrated into UEFA.com’s MatchCentre and UEFA.tv for all UEFA Women’s Champions League matches, with highlights to follow at midnight.
