What to heat? Boiler exchanges and choice of sources in context
The Aquatherm Prague trade fair took place from 19 to 22 April 2022 and attracted the attention of thousands interested in modernizing heating systems. More than 16,000 visitors passed through the fair. The most important 2 groups were those who change old non-ecological boilers to modern and economical, or solve how to save energy. The second large group was the professional public, which advises in this area, prepares projects, energy audits and installs new resources. It is therefore not surprising that the greatest interest was enjoyed by exhibitors with heat pumps, photovoltaics, batteries, regulation and heat storage. This was matched by interest in the topics of the accompanying program, including the seminar “What to heat? Boiler exchanges and the choice of sources in context ”organized by the TZB-info portal as part of the TZB-info boiler exchange project and the communication campaign“ Clean household heating with Norwegian funds ”.
At the beginning of the seminar, Ing. Zdeněk Lyčka, guarantor of the TZB-info boiler replacement project and a forensic expert on combustion sources, who generally evaluated heat sources with regard to their future, the perspective of use and in connection with the development of legislation. Among other things, he emphasized the neglected variant of wood and pellet heating at the time of the currently publicized heat pumps.
Furthermore, Ing. Petr Valdman, director of the SEF, with information on the current state and changes in the subsidy programs Kotlíkové subsidies and Nová zelena saving.
“The offer of subsidies for energy savings for the Czech household will be expanded through quick and simpler measures in the new NZÚ Light program. At the same time, it should function as a support bank, financed from the proceeds of emission allowances. Households with lower incomes, which will not achieve the implementation of energy saving measures due to lack of funds for pre-financing, will offer the possibility of payments to the supplier of unpaid invoices, depending on the type of suitable measures.“Follow in connection with subsidies.
Detailed comment Ing. Petr Valdman, Director of the SEF, will be published in an interview on www.tzb-info.cz in the coming days.
On behalf of the Association of Heating Technology Companies, Ing. Zdeněk Lyčka, on the reasons leading to higher prices of boilers and heat pumps, which result from rising prices of raw materials, energy and possible delivery dates for boilers.
Further adjustments to the subsidy title respond to the situation of rising prices, the current lack of a large part of technology and the difficult availability of specialist companies: “We are preparing a program aimed at small measures that do not fit into the classic NZÚ program. Imagine, for example, roof or soil insulation, insulation of selected perimeter walls, replacement of parts of windows and doors. The program should not hit the full professional capacities and target precisely the household of, for example, old-age pensioners, who do not use the measures in the NSA even at a high percentage and are also directly affected by energy poverty. We anticipate an allocation of 1 billion crowns for pilot needs, thanks to which up to 15,000 partial renovations can take place“Informs the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic.
Ing. Vladimír Stupavský for the Czech Pellet Cluster evaluated the current state of the market for firewood and wood pellets and the current and future availability of these fuels.
Ing. Jiří Vrba, on behalf of the Chimney Technical Standardization Commission, pointed out the unconditional need to check the condition of the chimney before its reuse after a long period of non-use, for example for stone installation.
For builders of family houses, who must meet the currently valid criteria for energy performance of buildings, a beneficial lecture that showed why the ground-water heat pumps are the easiest to meet the energy performance criteria of buildings.
Final lecture by Ing. Leopold Bendy related to the issue of energy communities. At present, there are already associations that are preparing to legalize their activities as energy communities once the amendment to the Energy Act is approved. “Legislation facilitates and encourages members of energy communities to share a variety of energy sources, which currently require complex permitting processes. For example, it will not just be about sharing the power of photovoltaic power plants on the roofs of apartment buildings, but a comprehensive system supported by intelligent regulation with maximizing the use of own energy sources within the community.“Said the lecture, among other things.
The seminar took place from 10:30 to approx. 13:00 in the lecture hall in the entrance hall 2 of the Letňany Exhibition Grounds for the organizing portal TZB-info moderated by Ing. Josef Hodboď. Admission was free and used with 120 people.
