MFA: Russia will be regulated by Asian countries that have not joined the sanctions.
“The reorientation of our foreign economic strategy to the East did not begin today. This process is objective in nature and is due, first of all, to the transformation of the Asia-Pacific region into the locomotive of international economic development,” Morgulov said.
He drew attention to the fact that “at the beginning of 2010, the share of Asia-Pacific countries in Russia’s foreign trade more than tripled and by 2022 exceeded 30%.”
“This creates a solid foundation for a significant increase in cooperation with Asian participants not affiliated with anti-Russian sanctions. Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and other states of Southeast Asia,” the deputy minister said.
“All these dynamically developing economies are interested in distributing a wide range of Russian goods – energy resources, fertilizers, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, natural foodstuffs, engineering products, as well as in covering our free market niches,” Morgulov summed up, RIA Novosti reports.
