Will set up lightning chargers outside the grocery stores
Uno-X Mobility promises fast, simple and cheap lightning charging.
Reitan Retail now provides gas around lightning charging, and through Uno-X Mobility will set up lightning chargers in both Norway and Denmark. The very first opens today, and is located in Danish Nyborg.
– The opening of our first lightning charging station for electric cars is an important strategic milestone, and marks the start of an ambitious investment in electric mobility, says Ole Robert Reitan, CEO of Reitan Retail and chairman of the board of Uno-X Mobility.
– Through Uno-X, we have a clear ambition to contribute to easier and more sustainable mobility, and we will be quick, easy and cheap to charge the car, he loves.
The plan is to utilize existing locations for the Reitan Retail group, thus setting up a charging station of up to 300 kW charging speed in strategic locations. It opens up for a quick shopping trip combined with a quick freight.
– This means that in the future there will be Uno-X lightning charging both at selected Rema 1000 stores and Uno-X stations in Norway and Denmark, Reitan explains.
The first charging station will now open in Denmark, and the plan is for Norway to follow suit during the summer.
– We are pleased that Uno-X can now offer lightning charging for electric cars, says Uno-X Mobility leader Vegar Kulset.
– In the medium term, we think it will be possible for 1,000 cars to charge at the same time at Reitan Retail’s locations in Norway and Denmark.
“The simple is often the best”, is the well-known slogan for Rema 1000. Uno-X intends to take this literally when they start their charging venture, because here the work is about subscription, user creation, charging chip or other things that complicate the charging operation.
– All electric car drivers on the go will have the opportunity to take advantage of the new lightning chargers, says Kulset.
– All you need is a regular payment card. And our customers must always be sure that we have competitive prices.
In total, Reitan Retail has 3,800 outlets spread across seven countries in the Nordic and Baltic countries, and Uno-X Mobility, which is also behind the Uno-X cycling team, will develop and promote solutions for sustainable mobility.
