On the occasion of Earth Day, the sounds of the forest come to life in different parts of Budapest
On the occasion of Earth Day, we can rediscover the lost unity and reconnect with nature.
As city dwellers, we can feel we are getting further and further away from what we call nature. But what can we call nature? And what if we didn’t think of it as something outside of us?
For the ear used to urban noise the sounds of nature come up with a break from the ordinary. On Earth Day, this special atmosphere is created by TEDxDanubia’s action: those who choose public transport or turn around the walls of the Arena Mall, Mammut Shopping Center, Allee, Westend, Sinapark and Rose Garden Shopping Center.
We can watch the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves on this dayand in the interpretation of Dorottya Udvaros and Gergely Litkai, we can hear short, attention-grabbing texts all over the city that draw attention to a topic that is important for the protection of the climate and our environment.
The action also wants to draw attention to the fact that not only do we open our ears and eyes on Earth Day, we can notice that the city is full of wonderful sounds, colors, wonderful and especially important animals.
The natural sounds in the action were collected and recorded by WWF Hungary.
