The City Nature Challenge (CNC) is an international initiative aimed at better understanding the biodiversity of cities. Managed by teams from the California Academy of Science and the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, this global inventory of urban biodiversity takes place every year over four days.
During the CNC, people around the world are invited to list the fauna and flora in and around their cities, using biodiversity recording platforms like iNaturalist. Each city engages in friendly cooperation and competition, the goal being to exceed the observations made the previous year.
During this event, the Toulouse Natural History Museum invites you to discover its in-situ programme. You will then be able to find researchers, mediators from the Museum but also research laboratories to talk about the challenges of biodiversity and identify the species you have photographed, but also take part in an interactive treasure hunt, at the meeting at the “Lizards in the city” and take discovery walks around several themes (plants, lichens, insects, birds, etc.)!
The full program is online on the Museum’s website.
The Museum welcomes you for an unprecedented program developed around the City Nature Challenge!
