In electoral times, what could be better than reactivating a participative and experiential show on democracy… in the setting of a polling station between the two rounds!
What if experimental music offered the opportunity to discuss the same approach of performers and their margin of freedom?
The collective La Générale d’Expérimentation has decided to open an exchange between the spectators and four musicians by considering atypical scores that leave a significant part of the initiative to the instrumentalists.
The collective, a musical and sound research laboratory created in 2009 in Dijon, questions the place of democracy in artistic creation. A show at the crossroads of concert, talk show and participatory experience.
Musicians
Baptiste Chatel (modular synthesizer and electronic devices)
Benoit Killian (percussion)
Mickaël Sévrain (prepared guitar, keyboards, effects)
Nicolas Thirion (electronic devices)
MicroMacroMashup Démocratie was recently presented at Festival Musica 2020 (Strasbourg) and Festival Mesure pour Mesure 2021 (Montreuil).
