The Russian government has started implementing the ecotourism development strategy
The Russian government is conducting serious operations to develop domestic tourism in the country. In this regard, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko held a meeting on the development of ecological tourism on April 16.
The event was dedicated to the results of the development of ecotourism in specially protected natural areas (SPNA) in 2021 and the preparation of plans for 2022.
The participants gathered to note the high demand among Russian citizens for this type of tourism – last year, the protected areas were visited by more than 10.6 million tourists.
accept this, the Ministry of Natural Resources has already developed a regulatory framework for ecotourism, as well as a Strategy for the development of protected areas until 2030.
Dmitry Chernyshenko instructed Rostourism, together with the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Construction and the Tourism.RF Corporation, to work out the steps within the framework of the developed Strategy.
The departments should study in detail the issues of state support for ecotourism, transport accessibility and the development of privacy in protected areas within the framework of the national project “Tourism and the hospitality industry”.
The Deputy Head of Government also holds the position of Chairman of the Ecotourism Government.
“At the moment, 75% of the tourist flow comes from just a few individual parks. “Belonging to eco-tourism is essential to the balance between the economy and heritage conservation.”
