The New Scarlatti Orchestra will hold the ‘Naples / Vienna’ concert at the Royal Galoppatoio of the Portici Palace

After the warm success of “ScarlattinJazz” last March 10 in Monte Sant’Angelo, the “Concerts for Federico”, the itinerant musical review between the locations of the Federico II University, conceived and created by the Nuova Scarlatti Orchestra in partnership with the project F2Cultura of the Federico University, preserves with a new appointment of great appeal: ‘Naples / Vienna’, Spring Concert at the University, a brilliant symphonic and vocal program ranging from Mozart to Strauss, passing through Rossini and the great classical Neapolitan song.
The good and tenor Francesco Malapena will participate in the concert. The Nuova Scarlatti Orchestra will be conducted by Pasquale Valerio, a Neapolitan active overseas at the head of the Villages Philharmonic Orchestra in Florida.
The very elegant location of the Galloper of the Agricultural Department of the Federico II University of Naples, recently restored to its former glory, admired in his time by the Emperor Joseph II who took it as a model for the similar structure annexed to the Austrian castle of Schönbrunn , will be the ideal setting for a comparison between two great musical capitals: Naples and Vienna.

The program will range from the sparkling Ouverture of Mozart’s Nozze di Figaro to the ‘Neapolitan’ Rossini of the Barber of Seville, the Italian in Algeri and the famous Tarantella; from Polke and Waltz among the most beautiful by Strauss to symphonic gem versions of the classic Neapolitan song.
