Covid in Belgium: the average number of infections drops below 9,000 cases per day – Belgium
During the last reference week, ending Friday April 8, an average of 8,978 contaminations were recorded each day, according to the latest data from the public health institute Sciensano published on Tuesday.
This represents a 14% drop. The previous week had also seen a decline. It was then the first in five weeks.
March 2020, Belgium has recorded some 3,943,831 positive cases. The bar of four million is therefore not very far away.
However, the number of tests was also much lower. last week than during the previous reference period: -16% for an average of 32,700 per day. Among them, nearly 30% tested positive.
The number of hospital admissions is rising again, reaching an average of 220.1 patients per day (+2%).
