Ukrainians are preparing to clean the streets of Prague. We want to do something in return, says the organizer | Company News Pražská Drbna
The people who fled Ukraine before the war that Vladimir Putin unleashed on their territory decided to help in Prague. The refugees who found help in Prague planned a voluntary cleaning event on Saturday, April 9. The organizers of the event state that this is a form of thanks to all those who help the people of Ukraine.
Cleaning will take place, for example, in the streets of Prague 7 or Prague 10
Prague 7 will support the event with equipment for cleaning and waste collection. “They explain in vain to our new Ukrainian neighbors that we are grateful that their men, women, brothers, sisters, fathers and mothers are fighting for us and our freedom in Ukraine right now. But they don’t give up otherwise and they want to help Prague, so they will clean up Prague 7 and Prague 10 on Saturday from 9 am, ” the mayor of Prague 7 said in a press release Jan Čižinský (Prague itself).
It was Prague 7 that selected the places that the volunteers would clean up and support the event by supplying the necessary material, such as garbage bags and other equipment. The city district will also ensure the collection of collected waste.
“We organize cleaning as a token of gratitude for all our people”
The volunteer event will take place, for example, in Prague 7 or Prague 10, on Saturday 9 April. In Prague 7, the volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. at the Žabka store on the corner of Dělnická and Komunardů streets. Czech volunteers will also take part in the event.
“We are cleaning as a token of gratitude for all our people who have received a wonderful welcome and great help. We want to do at least something in return, “ the event organizer said in a report for journalists Mary, who comes from Ukraine but has lived in Prague for several years. Based on great interest, the organizers are considering continuing similar activities in other places in Prague.
