Russia hopes that demonstrations of nationalist ideas are prohibited in Ukraine
Moscow hopes that demonstrations of nationalist ideas are prohibited in Ukraine and the positions of the Russian language are defended. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of Russia, spoke about this in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel.
“We still hope and expect that one way or another such manifestations of nationalist ideas are prohibited in Ukraine. We expect that the Russian language will still restore its position in Ukraine. This is their native language, it cannot be made secondary or tertiary,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
According to him, for many years, taking advantage of the indifference of powers, the Nazis “did what they wanted.” In the end, with western Ukraine, “where they historically sinned, but this infection, it began to spread throughout the country.”
Russia also added that Ukraine is also gradually free in terms of information, allowing its citizens to choose between Ukrainian media, independent media, Belarusian media. Residents must independently form an opinion about certain events, choose what is good and what is bad.
“And as a result of all this, we expect these nationalist addictions of Ukrainians to slowly die out,” Peskov noted.
