An extraordinary phenomenon very early this morning in Dijon
It is a rather incredible phenomenon that some people from Dijon were able to observe in the early morning this Friday…
(edit of 2/04/2022: You got it, it was an April Fool’s joke!)
You may not have seen it because you were thinking in your bed: by chance, Romain who was walking like every morning was the witness of this extraordinary phenomenon.
For a few minutes, several aurora borealis formed above Dijon and allowed us to contemplate a captivating spectacle. The people of Dijon who woke up at that time did not really understand what it was about since this type of phenomenon generally occurs in the Nordic countries… The snow fell last night may have had something to do with it…
But how does the Northern Lights occur?
Nathan Colin, an independent weather engineer in Dijon, gives some explanations: “An aurora is obtained by the solar winds. The Sun sends ionized atoms and particles into space. These solar winds are coming at high speed to Earth, like a school of fish. »
The engineer continues: “Only, the Earth is protected from these solar winds by a protective layer which covers it completely with the exception of the poles. The atoms enter the opening of the field lines and are heated by the friction created by entering the atmosphere, they then create pretty curtains of color in the sky, as observed this morning over Dijon. »
We can always dream that this kind of phenomenon occurs!
