Grave for a Russian soldier, ruins and life underground. 33rd day of Russia’s war against photos
The 33rd day of the Russian invasion has ended in Ukraine. All this time journalists and photographers have been working in Ukraine. This is how they saw last Monday – March 28, 2022.
Kharkiv: fire and life underground
This is Kharkov – Ukraine, the second largest city with a population of one and a half million. Shelling of the city continues daily. People are getting older, as there may be cases of coming out of shelters just for groceries and walking the dogs.
Kharkov metro saves citizens from bombing and shelling. People have been in such conditions for so long that they settle underground firmly – with stools, folding chairs and folding beds.
All the basements of the city are also occupied. Programming students Vladislav and Vitaly Mamin have been living here with their parents since the beginning of the war. They decided not to interrupt their studies, no matter what. In the area where they live, there has been no gas and water for a long time, but it is possible to download laptops.
Fire brigades work non-stop in all communities where there is access. In some cities, there are state services for the destruction of cases of contamination by Russian artillery. In this photo, warehouses in one of the districts of Kharkov came under shelling.
Mariupol: ruined city
The Russian army blocks all roads to Mariupol. The city has been in the garden for 27 days (data as of March 28). The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russian citizens were firing at humanitarian convoys trying to enter the city. Russia, in response, accuses the Ukrainian military of not coordinating humanitarian corridors.
According to the Mayor of Mariupol Vadim Boychenko, 90% of buildings in the city are damaged. Of the seven pains, three are completely destroyed, the rest have arisen strongly.
According to the mayor of Mariupol, since the beginning of the war, 5,000 civilians have died in the city, including 210 children. About 170 thousand people walked in the city, 140 thousand managed to leave Mariupol before the siege began, another 150 thousand managed to be evacuated after the blockade.
Kiev monuments
On the outskirts of Kiev, burnt Russian equipment will be compared. According to the Pentagon, Russian troops are stationed 15-20 km from the center of Kyiv, the northwestern capital, and 55 km from the center of the city in production. The city is under fire. Ukrainian units blocked the main roads in the suburbs of the capital, part of the Kiev region found the Russian army.
Together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, territorial defense detachments were identified in the defense of Kyiv.
In Kyiv, as in other cities of Ukraine, local monuments have the possibility of shelling, wrapping them with sandbags.
