“There is a diverse program in one week that can showcase the diverse relations between Debrecen and Germany,” said István Puskás, deputy mayor of Debrecen, at the opening of the exhibition entitled “Bilder aus der Wissenschaft” on 24th Batthyány Street on Monday. The exhibition is linked to the Wunderbar Festival, which aims to promote the German language and the culture of German-speaking countries.
Science, art, visuality

All this can be brought to life by the Wunderbar Festival, which can also draw attention to why German culture and the economy are important for Debrecen and why they are important. The exhibition can similarly show the boundaries and points of contact between science and visuality, science and art, the deputy mayor said. He also called on the young people who took part in the opening ceremony to think that in order to be able to communicate successfully in a foreign country, they need not only professional knowledge and language skills, but also knowledge of the language. we also need to understand a given medium, a word in language, culture and customs.
Merlin and the German League
As part of the Wunderbar Festival, there will be a career day at the Kölcsey Center on March 29, where German and Swiss companies will perform. The next day, the Day of the German Language will be held at the University of Debrecen. The piece, performed in Hungarian with German subtitles, will be presented by the Maladype Theater and the Kisvárda Castle Theater and Arts House, directed by Zoltán Balázs. The closing ceremony of the festival will take place on April 1 at 3 pm in the Modem, but the next day, on April 2 (Saturday), those interested can still meet at the German League Football Championship at the University of Debrecen.
