Russia cancels covid borders on land borders with Kazakhstan and Mongolia

The Operational Headquarters for Combating Coronavirus decided to lift restrictions on travel to Kazakhstan and Mongolia via land transportation. The easing comes into force on March 30, now there are no restrictions from Russia for tourist trips to these two countries. The border is also open to tourists from the Mongolian side, but not yet from the Kazakh side.
We remind you that the restrictions on the land border of Russia are different with the onset of events from March 30, 2020. In accordance with the previously introduced procedures, transportation through terrestrial facilities only identified categories of citizens at increased risks (visits to relatives, residence permits, diplomatic workers, transport personnel, treatment, patient care, etc.)
Land border restrictions were gradually reduced with select countries. The land border of Russia since March 18, 2022 is also open with Belarus. There is a rail connection to Finland, but there are still borders at the Finnish border crossing by car.
Now all covid borders for land border crossings with Kazakhstan and Mongolia have been removed.
“The operational headquarters for the prevention of the importation and spread of a new coronavirus infection, stopped from 0000 hours Moscow time on March 30, 2022, to remove restrictions on entry into Kazakhstan to Russia and on the exit of Russian citizens to Kazakhstan through the land section of the Russian-Kazakhstan border, and also foreign citizens and stateless persons in Russia and citizens of Russia to Mongolia through the land section of the Russian-Mongolian border,” the Operational Headquarters said in a statement.
The land border on the Mongolian side is open. Recently, almost all sanitary requirements for arriving from abroad were canceled in Mongolia.
But the land border with Kazakhstan is closed for tourists from the Kazakh side: as of on March 24 2022 entry was allowed only set of categories of citizens (permit, relatives, military personnel, transport personnel, work, etc.)
We emphasize that for crossing land borders with all other states (Norway, Finland in terms of road traffic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, China, North Korea) Receptions due to the fight against the pandemic.
AIR LINKS WITH KAZAKHSTAN AND MONGOLIA
We remind you that earlier the Federal Air Transport Agency announced the removal of all restrictions on flights in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Iran.
There is no actual direct air connection with Mongolia yet, although the Operational Headquarters of the Russian Federation gave permission for the implementation.
According to information on the website of the Federal Air Transport Agency, flights are allowed on the routes: Moscow – Ulaanbaatar with a frequency of 3 times a week, Ulan-Ude – Ulan Bator with a frequency of 1 time per week, Irkutsk – Ulaanbaatar and Krasnoyarsk – Ulaanbaatar with frequency frequency 1 time per week on each route from 12/1/2021.
