Prague – Prague will prepare two large exchanges of assets with the state in the total value of 2.2 billion crowns. The plan was approved today by the deputies, and both transactions will be voted on separately from the following months. In the first shift, the city will gain in exchange for most of the area of the Hospital in Bulovka, among others, the barracks in Karlín, the area in Bohdalec or the building in Hybernský. During the second shift, the municipality will exchange its plots at Na Homolce Hospital and Faust House on Charles Square for Veleslavín Castle and other lands.
The management of the municipality has been negotiating property shifts with the Office for Representation of the State in Property Matters (ÚZSVM) for several years. However, during the previous government, the agreement was blocked by the issue of municipal land in Letňany, which he wanted to obtain from Prague, former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO), for the construction of a complex for officials.
The new government is no longer interested in them and, according to councilor Jan Chabr (TOP 09), nothing prevents transactions. The councilor added that today’s decision of the deputies fixes the prices of land and real estate according to opinions from last year. “The given intentions are approved in order to be completed, and the prices of expert opinions are fixed,” he said.
In the first shift with an asset value of about 1.8 billion, the municipality will get for most of the area of the University Hospital in Bulovka next to the empty barracks in Karlín, the area in Bohdalec suitable for the construction of city apartments, land at the graphic school in Hellichova street Eden, a plot of land in Záběhlice for the construction of a school and a former building of the Ministry of the Interior, into which, according to Chabr, the Hybernská Campus should be extended. According to the councilor, the deputies could vote on the transaction in April or May.
In the second shift worth about 400 million crowns, the city will leave the land in Na Homolce Hospital and Faust House, which uses the General University Hospital but is owned by its municipality. In exchange, Prague will acquire the Veleslavín chateau, part of the gardening colony Na Balkáně and land near the falconry in Riegrovy sady. According to Chabr, the deputies should vote on this shift in June.
