Stoltenberg warned Russia against “irresponsible nuclear rhetoric”
On Thursday, in all likelihood, he will decide to build up armed forces on his eastern flank: “on land, on the coast and at sea.”
This was stated at a press conference held in Brussels on the eve of the summit, the head of NATO Jens Stoltenberg.
NATO has significantly increased its presence on the alliance’s eastern border, deploying some 40,000 Arabs from the Baltic Sea to the Montenegrin Sea, and has amassed four new military units in Bulgaria, the conference, Europe and Slovakia.
Since the Russian annexation of Ukraine’s takeover of Crimea in 2014, the United States Alliance in the Baltic States and Poland has about 5,000 troops.
Speaking at a press conference, the NATO Secretary General warned Russia against using biological or chemical weapons in Ukraine.
“Russia must end this dangerous unrequited nuclear rhetoric… Russia must understand that it can never come close to a nuclear war,” Stoltenberg said, suggesting that any Russian use of biological or chemical weapons would have “far-reaching consequences” and that NATO was ready “creating allies from any outbreak at any time.”
NATO leaders should also agree on Thursday on additional assistance to Kiev, including supplies of equipment that provides security against American, biological and nuclear threats, Stoltenberg said.
With the head of the American port, China will condemn Russia’s unleashed war in Ukraine and will not entail Moscow’s “material support”.
Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng said on Saturday that Western sanctions against Russia will become “more and more outrageous.” In response, Stoltenberg told reporters that “already in China, the problem has arisen of the fact that China is currently questioning some key security principles, including the right of every country in Europe to choose its own path.”
The NATO summit, which will be attended by President Biden, will be held on Thursday in Brussels.
