Peskov responded to Biden’s fears: “Russia is not engaged in banditry”
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded on March 22 to US President Joe Biden’s statement regarding Russia’s alleged cyberattacks on the western side.
“The Russian Federation, unlike many Western countries, does not engage in banditry at the state level,” Peskov assured. According to him, fears about hypothetical Russian cyber attacks are groundless.
Recall, on the eve of the US President said that, according to US intelligence, the Russian Federation “is working on options for a cyberattack.” In this regard, according to Biden, it is necessary to increase the level of protection of American privacy objects. The President proposes that businesses strengthen their security, since it is about protecting national interests.
At the same time, presidential aide Ann Nyberger noted that at the moment the United States does not have specific indicators of Russia on cyber attacks. This, according to the official, is about “some research activities.”
Previously, Russia has already studied the United States as one of the main sources of cyber threats. In particular, in 2020, statements have already been made about a meeting of Russian hackers in the American presidential election. Russian President Vladimir Putin called these accusations a provocation.
