“Our work is science.” The Brno-based microscope manufacturer attracts new employees – Médiář
Brno-based electron microscope manufacturer Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched a new recruitment campaign Our work is science. It is aimed primarily at technically educated candidates with specializations in fields such as physics, electronics, mechanical design or software development. The company employs over 1,500 people and has long won in surveys for the most sought-after employer in the South Moravian Region. Last year alone, it has grown by more than 400 new employees, this year it plans to hire a similar number.
The creative concept of the campaign was created in-house, the script and video production were taken over by the Filmondo agency, the graphics were prepared by Artax and online by Proficio. The faces of the campaign are Thermo Fisher employees themselves.
The campaign has been on view since the beginning of March in the online space, on social networks, but also outdoors, where bigboards, tram stickers or posters at selected university faculties are used. The central video spot can also be seen in the Scala University Cinema in Brno in March.
“Our goal was to make a campaign that is not based on job benefits or clichés about corporate culture. Claim Our work is science it has a double meaning. We tell her that we are working on cutting-edge technologies and producing devices that are to some extent unique in our industry, thus destroying the general idea of ’Czech assembly’. The second point is that electron microscopes and spectrometry are used by the scientists who are our customers, ”he says. Jakub KovářůThermo Fisher Scientific marketing specialist.
Microscopes in Brno
Electron microscopy has been associated with Brno for more than 70 years and the South Moravian metropolis is sought after and the world’s center of the field. About one-third of all electron microscopes in the world are reported to be manufactured here, with Thermo Fisher playing a key role as the largest local manufacturer. Electron microscopes are highly sophisticated scientific devices that are used in a wide range of fields. They enable the development of new materials, are used in the production of microchips, and study viruses. It was electron microscopes that helped scientists understand the structure and workings of the SARS-Cov-2 virus, allowing pharmaceutical companies to develop an effective vaccine in record time. The importance of this field is also evidenced by the fact that Brno presents itself at the world exhibition Expo with electron microscopy and the space industry.
