the Nature Sauvage collective is mobilizing against overfishing
New mobilization in the Pink City. The animal collective Wild Nature Occitania call for demonstrations on Saturday March 19 in Toulouse as part of World Health Day end of intensive and industrial fishing. The action is coordinated with theassociation World day for the end of fishing.
Planned happenings
The gathering will be held in the General de Gaulle Square, near Capitole metro station, 11 a.m.. The objective of this event is to educate as many people as possible about the importance of preservation oceans and marine species. To highlight this message, the collective has planned various happenings and stagings to challenge passers-by.
We are going to use fishing nets to logically symbolize overfishing. We have prepared posters that highlight the alarming figures of industrial fishing. We will also put a large blue tarp on the ground with fish. Finally, we have prepared speeches to explain the dangers of intensive fishing on the environment, and therefore on our health”, explains to L’Opinion Indépendante, Marion Ribes, organizer of the collective Nature Sauvage Occitanie.
The group also recalls that a scientific study shows that by 2030marine resources could be depleted if overfishing continues. “So we have to react now,” underlines Marion Ribes.
Collective Wild Nature Occitania is a regular in actions in favor of the animal cause. He is also planning a new event, on April 23, 2022, on the theme, this time, of animal experiments.
