After a two-year forced break due to Corona, the 20th International A Cappella Week in Hanover started on April 23rd. According to the organizers, the anniversary edition reflects on the beginnings of the cross-style and cross-genre vocal music festival. Above all, ensembles that have established the nationwide reputation of the a cappella week are to perform, including the King’s Singers and Voces8 from England and the Trio Mediaeval from Norway. In addition, there will be a “Conductor in Residence” for the first time in the form of baritone Gabriel Crouch. The Brit is traveling with his soloist ensemble Gallicantus and will be giving workshops, according to the organizers. Local choral institutions such as the Hanover Boys’ Choir are also represented at the festival anniversary. Advance ticket sales begin on March 20th.
