“Civilians are dying in Ukraine”, “No-fly zone, now! or even a portrait of Vladimir Putin covered in traces of bloody hands. This Sunday afternoon in Dijon, the words of the opponents of the war in Ukraine are summed up on the placards while a silent demonstration was organized between Place Darcy and Place de la Liberation by the Ukraine Dijon Besançon association.
Many actions since the beginning of the fights
The opportunity also for the supporters of Ukraine to maintain the mobilization initiated since the first hours of the conflict. In recent days, the association has set up a platform to list the needs of the Ukrainian people and collect all the donations received. But also welcomed refugees who fled the fighting in Ukraine or organized four solidarity convoys to the border between Poland and Ukraine.

“We came home yesterday, we cried”
Among those present are Bernard and David, who recently returned from Poland. They were applauded for a long time by the participants. Originally from Genlis, Bernard, 61, we shared his feelings after his recent journey. “I was upset. We met a proud, dignified people. We must also pay tribute to the organization of the Polish government, which has done everything possible to take care of the refugees as well as possible. We came home yesterday, we cried.
In addition to the collection point already active at the restaurant Le P’tit Bouchon Dijonnais, the association is now a second collection point at the food bank (2 Rue de Skopje), Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
