Emmi: Hungary fully provides health care from Ukraine
Hungary will fully provide health care from Ukraine, the state health secretariat of the Ministry of Human Resources (EMMI) said in a statement on Thursday.
It was written that the protocol of health care is set out in the ministerial instruction of Miklós Kásler. According to this, the government will provide refugees from Ukraine interested in Hungary with medicine, hospital care and the care of Hungarians for long-term residents, if necessary.
They are therefore also entitled to primary health care, outpatient specialist care, hospital care, medicines to treat their illness, medical aids, emergency dental care, maternity care and vaccinations, he added.
According to Emmi, mobile health teams are already waiting 24 hours a day at border crossing points.
and provide health screening, care, coronavirus testing for refugees and organize their hospital care if necessary.
Attention was drawn to the fact that all Ukrainian citizens legally residing in the territory of Hungary, fleeing the territory of Ukraine, dual Ukrainian-Hungarian citizens and third-country nationals previously legally residing in Ukraine and fleeing to Hungary are entitled to the necessary health care free of charge. Hungary also provides them with basic health care, emergency care and chronic care.
Primary health care is provided by a general practitioner with territorial care obligations according to the place of residence and stay, who – if necessary – can refer the patient to the hospital providing territorial care. In the case of emergency care, patients are cared for with the involvement of the National Ambulance Service.
They can also use the on-call care provided by the local government, and the nurse offers the possibility of caring for a nurse to a shelter in her area, they explained.
Vaccinations can be obtained from your GP or pediatrician.
Compulsory age-related vaccinations, as well as vaccinations against coronavirus, influenza and MMR (protection against measles, rubella, mumps) could also be included.
Patients are provided with the necessary medications and medical aids by prescription. They may be reimbursed free of charge in urgent cases, in other cases for an amount equal to the premium payable by those entitled to certain social security benefits.
In such cases, the pharmacies contain the name and the full price of the medicines, and the invoice issued to the asylum authority can be accounted for with the assistance of the National Health Insurance Fund Manager. Emmi also mentioned that
if you encounter a language barrier during your health care, you can call an interpreter on the toll-free number 1812.
