War in Ukraine: world leaders discuss new sanctions against Russia in London
British Prime Minister Johnson is set to hold an important event with the Prime Ministers of Canada and the Netherlands in London as part of the western countries’ legal proceedings to agree on new meetings regarding Russia.
In parallel, the UK has allocated another £74 million to the government of Ukraine.
The prime minister outlined a six-point plan to increase pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin after the invasion of Ukraine. These shares have gathered:
- creation of an “international humanitarian coalition” for Ukraine
- support in her self-defence assessment efforts
- consideration of economic pressure on Russia
- opposition to the “creeping normalization” of Russia’s actions in Ukraine
- results of the investigation
- conducting a “rapid disaster recovery and stability campaign” among NATO countries
A law to combat money laundering by oligarchs close to Putin is also likely to be passed in parliament.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte are hosting the United States on Monday.
He is expected to appear on the fact that they have taken exceptional action to exclude Russia from the SWIFT system. The US Congress also supports his proposal to combat Russian aggression.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Western powers are actively using the possibility of a ban on Russian oil imports.
