Brno is crushing the rise in fuel prices. Prices also bother the transport company Company News Brněnská Drbna
The Czech Republic is plagued by fuel prices, which have escalated last week. While diesel prices are already approaching 50 crowns, petrol in the Moravian metropolis is holding around forty-four crowns. Drivers and transport companies will feel the effects of the sudden rise in prices.
Fuel prices on the Czech market have been on the rise since the end of January. However, they increased dramatically as a result of the invasion of Ukraine, which led to higher oil prices and a weakening of the Czech koruna. Domestic prices of diesel and petrol have reached an all-time high and the rise in prices is unlikely to end. Prudent drivers filled their canisters on time, and today it was almost empty at gas stations.
At the Brno petrol station, the prices of natural 95 are around less than forty-four crowns per liter. Diesel will cost customers about three crowns more expensive. For example, at Shell in Abandoned Face, people buy diesel for 46.50 and petrol for 43.90 crowns. Similar prices can be seen at OMV in Heršpická Street. There, a liter of petrol also costs 43.90 crowns, diesel 46.90 crowns.
Record prices
Over forty crowns, fuel prices began to climb last week. “Such a rapid rate of increase in reaching record levels is absolutely extraordinary. In general, prices tend to slow down when they reach historical highs, as they are affected by the ‘return to average’ phenomenon. However, this phenomenon, průměr average magnetisation ’, is being suppressed in the current emergency,“said Trinity Bank’s chief economist Lukáš Kovandaaccording to which they can still climb up to fifty crowns per liter in March.
Prices that broke the 2012 record also made everyday life more difficult Robert Šťastný. A businessman from the Brno region operates a road transport and forwarding company that delivers goods throughout Europe. “The situation has hit us hard. The rise in fuel prices will have to be reflected in the price of transport. It probably doesn’t work otherwise nowadays, ” described Happy.

The transport company also suffers from energy prices
High diesel prices will also be reflected in the operation of the Brno City Transport Company (DPMB). “Rising fuel prices, as well as energy, are a big problem for us. For example, in the case of diesel, we always have prices fixed for one week in advance. So currently we have one liter of diesel for about twenty-nine crowns. We’ll find out tomorrow what the price will be tomorrow. “ said the DPMB spokeswoman Gossip Barbora Doležalová.
In January alone, the Brno transport company spent an additional twenty-seven million crowns, mainly on electricity. According to Doležalová, more efficient management of electricity, which includes, for example, car heating or adjustment of timetables, is a space for saving management. “Any increase in fares is in the competence and at the discretion of the Brno city management. According to our information, this step is not being considered. “ said the spokeswoman.
