Frankfurt – Will the north end become a permanent construction site plagued by traffic jams?
Problem number 1: Starting today, the dilapidated, ancient sewer from 1875 will be renewed at 240 meters in Glauburgstraße between Oeder Weg and Eckenheimer Landstraße. According to the planning of the city drainage, this construction work is to last 13 months – combined with closures for motor vehicle traffic and construction costs of 1.4 million euros.

Problem number 2: From April, the traffic department will continue to convert the Oeder Weg into a bicycle-friendly side street. On Friday, the magistrate approved 1.3 million euros for furniture and street greening.
But that’s not all: through traffic, which otherwise uses the Oeder Weg, is to be diverted from the north. A so-called diagonal barrier is to be erected, the cars are to be connected via Holzhausenstraße.
But: If you drive your car via the Eckenheimer Landstraße to get to the Oeder Weg via the Glauburgstraße, you have a problem: you are standing in front of the canal construction site…
