Šiřišťová stated that with regard to the weather and the number of accidents, drivers on the roads should be more careful. According to a ČTK reporter, for example, cars and public transport buses were standing on the road from Novodvorská Street to Braník, and one of the drivers was putting on snow chains.
According to Lišková, after 7.00 all 73 spreaders took to the streets in the so-called first order, which includes the most important roads, such as the main roads or streets near hospitals and offices. According to the spokesperson, another technique intended for less important communications was also on standby.
The weather has also caused delays on public transport buses and suburban lines. “Impassable roads complicate traffic in several places in the region, especially north of Prague,” said the Prague Integrated Transport (PID) twitter account. According to the PID website, car accidents in the metropolis have also delayed some tram lines.
Middle Bohemia
Snow also hit Central Bohemia. In the morning, road workers treated the roads mainly in the Kladno region. At Králové Dvůr in the Beroun region, three spreaders got stuck in a column and could not get to their spreading circuits, Petra Kučerová, a spokeswoman for the regional administration and road maintenance, told ČTK.
At around 10.30 a snowfall was reported, especially in the Kladno region, in other parts of the region the situation was calm. “In the Kladno area, we have all road trucks in the field that treat roads,” said Kučerová. Other spreaders had to go into the field in the Mladá Boleslav or Beroun regions. However, on the road II / 605, three cars got into the convoy, so they could not get to the surroundings of Chyňava, Karlštejn and Rudná in time. “As a result, unfortunately, the roads will still be delayed,” the spokeswoman added.
According to spokeswoman Monika Nováková, rescuers set out in the morning, for example, for an accident near Všenor near Prague, in which a car overturned. Two trapped people remained inside, but in the end the collision went unnoticed. After rescue, the rescuers transported the passengers to the hospital in Prague Motol for examination.
