NIÈVRE: SNCF Réseau is modernizing the Nevers-Clamecy line
The operator of the national rail network is carrying out modernization work on the track between Arzembouy and Guérigny for an amount of 1.5 million euros from February 21 to April 15.
By 2023, an overall investment of 6 million euros will make it possible to perpetuate the Nevers-Arzembouy and Cercy-Corbigny-Clamecy capillary freight lines. This work is financed by the State, the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Region, the Nièvre Departmental Council, SOUFFLET Agriculture, AXEREAL, BOURGOGNE AUVERGNE AGGREGATES, CARMAT, the Community of communes Bazois Loire Morvan, the Community of communes of Tannay- Brinon-Corbigny, the Community of communes of Bertranges, the Community of communes of Haut Nivernais Val d’Yonne, and SNCF Réseau.
Thanks to the support of the 12 partners, this win-win approach contributes to developing freight, the industrial and economic activity of the territory and employment.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The modernization works between Arzembouy and Guérigny are taking place from Monday February 21 to Friday April 15.
They are consistent to renew:
– 9 km of tracks,
– 1,500 crossings,
– 3,250 tonnes of ballast,
– Level crossings 91 at Arzembouy, 106 at Nolay, 107 at Poiseux, 113 at Guérigny and 123 at Varennes.
The companies that use this line are AXEREAL and SOUFFLET Agriculture for the transport of cereals.
The repair and maintenance work on the line is awarded to Sféris.
The local companies Dijonnaise des Voies Ferrées, from the Dijon region and GC Bat, located in Montchanin, are carrying out this work.
To carry out this project, 25 people will be mobilized every day and 2,100 hours of integration will be carried out.
