Lifeguard Schaluppke “Days rich in chlorine” – discover Hanover …
Welcome to the wettest focal point of the republic – to the public baths! In times of rampant lack of exercise, permanent swimming pool closures and virtual madness, lifeguard Rudi Schaluppke stands like a rock in the artificial surf of the wave pool. Schaluppke reminded that water cannot be digitized. He celebrates the analogue magic of the wet environment by sending his bathers into the shower.
The bathing clientele still believes that lifeguards only stand around at the edge of the pool, bully children and pensioners, pretend to be thick and stare after the ladies for the rest of the day. Rudi Schaluppke, on the other hand, makes it clear to us:
This job requires a complex catalog of skills! The lifeguard is a girl for everything: he is an entertainer, child comforter, worry uncle, psychologist, special education teacher, social worker, style consultant, mediator, athlete’s foot whisperer, minister for indoor and outdoor pools, diplomat and service provider. You could also say: A kind of superhero in shorts, with a plauze and flip-flops. “Days rich in chlorine” is the new program with the old hand on the tiled floor. Schaluppke talks, rocks and raps until the last listener notices: a lifeguard is also an entertainer! And when the funky basses of his song interludes bubble in unison with the air bubbles in the whirlpool, the mood reaches its pH-neutral peak!
