200 men from the 27th battalion of Annecy alpine hunters leave for Romania
This Monday, February 28, 200 soldiers from the 27th Alpine Chasseurs Battalion, deployed in Annecy, will leave for Romania. An event that follows the acceleration of military efforts within the framework of NATO, announced by President Emmanuel Macron this Friday, February 25.
This is one of the many consequences of the war in Ukraine. This Monday, February 28, 200 men from the 27th Alpine Hunters Battalion (27th BCA), deployed in Annecy, will leave for Romania, a member country of NATO and located on the southern border of Ukraine.
This Friday, February 25, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron announced the acceleration of France’s military efforts within the framework of NATO, at the issuance of an exceptional EU summit. Thereby, France has confirmed the deployment of 500 soldiers in Romania within NATO following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The 27th BCA will be the leader of the starting forces.
This Saturday, February 26, the men of the 27th Alpine Hunters Battalion are in full preparation. They load the material into containers, which will be transported by plane on the day of departure.
