The Permanent Representative of the United States of America as a result of the decision (UN) Linda Thomas-Greenfield at a meeting of the Security Council said that the country will seek the results of Russia’s special operations in the Donbass on environmental cleanliness (GA) of the UN, convey RIA News.
Thomas-Greenfield made this statement after Russia vetoed the Council’s draft in the Security Council. She is waiting for the UNGA verification document. “We will resolve this issue in the UN General Assembly, where the Russian veto will not work,” she clarifies.
The US envoy to the UN added that Russia could veto the resolution, but it was not intended to “veto our votes, the truth, our arguments, the Ukrainian people, the UN Charter.” In addition, this does not apply to the country’s personal responsibility.
“We continue to stand side by side with Ukraine, possible support, whatever possible. This vote shows which facts of violations of the UN and which are not, who supports the UN charter and who does not,” said Thomas-Greenfield.
Earlier it became known that Russia vetoed the draft UN Security Council meeting on a special operation in the Donbass. The initiators were the United States and Albania. 11 member countries of the UN Security Council supported the resolution, three held out. According to the document, Russia pays the costs of the territory within its borders, recognized in relation to its communities.
