Quarrel at the town hall in Letňany: The 17-year-old Pirate wanted to act. “Shall we bring four-year-olds here?” Said an ODS politician
The whole affair was intertwined on Monday evening with a debate on the city’s budget. According to the law and the Rules of Procedure, citizens also have the opportunity to comment on this. But the problem was whether anyone under the age of 18 could speak. Deputy Mayor Ondřej Lněnička (ODS) noted that according to the Act on the city cannot get out.
Who has the right to resign?
This provoked an exchange of views on how it really is. Opposition representative Eduard Horák (Pirates) argued that it was possible to vote on whether Štěpka could speak. “When the Rules of Procedure of the Capital the city says that a citizen over the age of 18 has a right, so he does not say that a citizen under the age of 18 has no right,He said. He was joined by an independent representative, Zbyněk Walter, who, together with the Pirates, ran for the Healthy Letňany Association. The lawyer himself is suggesting that such a vote is possible in the municipality. “We shouldn’t have a problem with that either,” he added.
Deputy Mayor Lněnička, however, did not agree. “I understand you want to make the Little Pirate member visible here. If you want to do such things, even if it’s voting, then for me you personally have the right to basically amend the law. “Let’s vote on it, but it’s upside down,” he said. “If I could admit that the Prague City Council approved something, let’s please vote here, that one-year-old children will go to the polls, because it is exactly the adjustment itself, “he added. In the end, the vote was taken, but the young man was not allowed to speak.
Personal attacks
Štěpka later objected on Twitter to the fact that the deputy mayor then attacked him personally, because he started reading his profile on the Young Piracy website, where, for example, he says that he wants to get involved in politics. Lněnička did not forgive another remark. “Excuse me, will we bring a constellation of four-year-olds here who will tell us about the budget? ” he asked, begging his colleagues for justice. “I’m sorry the needy goose, who has a legal education but knows nothing about the law, spoke here, Mr. Walter. How can he work for something like that, “he added, adding that the Pirates and other deputies were just” joking “.
But Walter returned his criticism. “I did not think that 30 years after the revolution I would listen to a speech almost like Miroslav Štěpán ‘we will not be ruled by children here’,” he told the deputy mayor. He stumbled upon a communist chief who had forcibly suppressed pre-revolutionary protests and was also known for saying that “in no country, not even in development, socialist and capital, do 15-year-olds decide when the president should leave or when he will come. and who it should be. “
The silver medal that Mayor Zdeněk Kučera received as part of the Letňansý železňák race, which he participated in as a member of the local fire brigade.
