Central Jutland fell on rule change – adressa.no
The case is being updated.
The Danish club led 1-0 after the home game, but goals by Andrija Zivkovic and Vieirinha initially sent the Greek home team in the overall lead. Substitute Daniel Høegh reduced to 1-2 in the 80th minute. As the rules were before, it would send Central Jutland to the quarterfinals of the conference league.
Now the away goal rule has been removed, and thus the teams had to play extra innings of 2-2 overall. When they were goalless, it became a penalty shootout. The Danes’ first shooter Maximilian Meyer was the only one to miss, and PAOK went on with 5-3.
Thus, FC Copenhagen and Bodø / Glimt are the only Nordic participants when the quarterfinals are drawn on Friday. They can be drawn against each other as FCK is seen as the group winner.
These are the layers in the draw, the seed (Glimt’s possible opponents):
AZ Alkmaar (Netherlands), Basel (Switzerland), Feyenoord (Netherlands), Ghent (Belgium), FC Copenhagen (Denmark), LASK (Austria), Rennes (France), Roma (Italy).
Used: Bodø / Glimt (Norway), Leicester (England), Marseille (France), PAOK (Greece), Partizan Belgrade (Serbia), PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands), Slavia Prague (Czech Republic), Vitesse (Netherlands).
