Problem spots according to insurance companies: it is most often broken down on motorways near Prague
He describes the lack of driving as the most common cause of accidents at the Ore Police. Typical accidents here are collisions in convoys, in which – so to speak without much exaggeration – some drivers lose vigilance and nerves.
Other common complications are also reported on the highway in the immediate vicinity of the metropolis, on the D8 near Zdib. Most of the 26 accidents with a total damage of 27.1 million, which were recorded here in the last two years, had similar causes as the clashes at Rudná.
From the Central Bohemian point of view, it is unhappy to find that among the ten places in the country that the CCP described as the most problematic according to the amount of damage, there are seven out of Central Bohemia.
The end of motor trains? According to Councilor Borecký, the locals can save the state
These are mostly sections of motorways – the busiest ones. In addition to Rudná and Zdib, this list of risky places includes D1 at Modletice in Prague-East (with 58 accidents in 24 months and an estimated damage of 23.7 million crowns), D8 at Klíčany in Prague-East (59 accidents and 21.4 million crowns). ), again D1, this time near Mirošovice in Prague-East (83 accidents, 20.5 million), again D8, this time near the settlement Vepřek near Nová Ves in the Mělník region (“only” 5 accidents, but 19.3 million) and more D1 near Kunice in Prague-East (50 accidents, 18.9 million). Together, these sites are highly congested, high-traffic areas – and often where drivers have recently had to respond to traffic congestion restrictions due to repairs.
Politics has a slightly different perspective
Jan Tulach, Deputy Director of the Central Bohemian Police for the External Service, identified the provision of smooth motorway traffic as one of the priorities for this year. This meant not only increased monitoring of compliance with road traffic rules on motorways, but also the continuation of the development of drone accidents, which contributes to a faster resumption of transit. However, for 2022, Tulach announces targeted compliance checks (including a ban on the consumption of alcoholic beverages and other addictive substances by all road users) throughout the road network. In terms of police statistics, highways are not the places where they break down most often in the region.
Of the motorway departments, the workplace in Mirošovice on the D1 closer to Prague (471) and in Nová Ves on the D8 (351) investigated the most accidents last year; followed by Rudná on the D5 (266), Poříčany on the D11 (184) and Bernatice on the D1 further from the capital (165). Other motorways do not have a fully functioning motorway department and accidents are handled there by the traffic police of the relevant territorial department. The most serious consequences were recorded last year in Nová Ves, 5 killed and 10 serious injuries; elsewhere the statistics are less sad: Mirošovice 2 deaths / 4 serious injuries, Bernartice 1/2, Rudná 1/6, Poříčany 2/2.
